Thailand: Kad Kokoa
Kad Kokoa is a premium craft chocolate brand founded by Paniti and Nuttaya, a corporate lawyer duo with a mission to bring Thai cacao to the world and make it accessible to everyone.
Kad Kokoa sources only the finest cacao beans from farmers in Thailand's lush jungles, prioritizing the use of sustainable and ethical farming practices. Their skilled chocolatiers then transform these beans into premium chocolate bars, bonbons, and other delectable treats, making Kad Kokoa a favorite among gourmet chefs and chocolate enthusiasts.
But what sets Kad Kokoa apart from other chocolate brands is their commitment to supporting local farmers and promoting sustainable practices. They work closely with farmers, ensuring that they are paid fairly and the environment is protected. Kad Kokoa's dedication to quality and ethics is a testament to their founders' passion and expertise in both law and chocolate-making.
Another significant aspect of Kad Kokoa's commitment to sustainability and social responsibility is their partnership with the Innovation Center of Research and Development of Sustainable Thai Cacao (ISTC). ISTC was founded by Kad Kokoa, School of Agricultural Resources, and Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. This collaboration of three parties shares the same vision of promoting sustainable agriculture practices and improving the livelihoods of smallholder cacao farmers in Thailand.
Kad Kokoa's partnership with ISTC is just one example of their commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. Through this collaboration, Kad Kokoa is able to support and empower local farmers while promoting Thai cacao and its unique flavor to the world. In addition, Kad Kokoa is committed to education and raising awareness about the importance of sustainable cacao farming.
Kad Kokoa’s dedication to quality has not gone unnoticed, as they have received numerous awards and recognitions for their exceptional chocolate. In 2021, their single origin dark chocolate from Chumphon and Chantaburi were awarded a Gold medal and Silver medal respectively at AVPA, France. This recognition is a testament to their commitment to producing high-quality chocolate while supporting ethical and sustainable practices.
